I make flutes both to my own designs and modified copies of instruments i have measured and studied.

Modifications could be a change in finger hole position or size or perhaps a small change in length of one or more sections of the flute. This is because the flutes from the 19 century, of which my copies are made, played with a different pitch than that of today which is A 440.

As the changes are small the character of the flute stays close to that of the origional.

I use African Blackwood, Boxwood, Plum or Acetal for the bodies of the instrument with brass or silver for the rings. Tuning slides are from brass and nickel silver.

All flutes come with a fitted cotton bag made by myself.

For more information on the different flutes please follow the lnks to the right.
